I am Puerto Rican, both Parents are from the beautiful
Island of Puerto Rico. If you haven't gone, then you are missing out on the best parts of the world. Puerto Rico is
ubelievable with rain forest, deserts, beaches, caves, oceans and rivers. Also Puerto Rico has the largest Telescope in the world that tracks all movements to Earth and is located in Arecibo. I work for a Consulting firm and enjoy every bit of it.Thank God for Christ because he is the Answer to all of our problems.
Here is a little bit about me:
I have been trained under an Opera Singer Angela Knight of the Washington Metropolitan Opera House here in the Washington, DC area. She has sung with leading men such as Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras. She opened up for President Bush for the Republican Party Gala Event a year ago. I Understudied Gospel under Angela who is a Coloratura Soprano, which is the highest range of a Soprano. My family is also into the Music side of things where my Uncle Jay (Jesus)plays the bass guitar, alongside Uncle Victor who is a singer and plays a mean guitar. My Aunt Lucy (J. Lo)who was also formerly trained by an Opera Singer went on to sing at events back in her day and still sings to this day. Also my cousin Angie sings and plays the guitar. As a young child I was thrusted into the spotlight to sing for Company that would come to the house so at the tender age of 7 I was told to go for it, by one of my neighbors who did back up for several Artist in the early 70's. My musical talents are as followed: I sung with the Tabernacle of Prayer choir under the leadership of Musical Director Bro. Nicholas, and sung also at Dean Divers Baptist Church Mass Choir under the leadership and guidance of the Musical talents of Tammy Brewer. I sung God Bless America for the Peekskill Float Festival in Peekskill for the 4th of July this year. I still sing at events wherever I am lead to sing. I am a Tenor di Forza with a 3 Octave Range and I gladly sing what I know best which is Gospel. When the weather is beautiful I have my windows opened and all of my Neighbors say that's Hector singing again. You know once you have a gift, you just can't stop singing. It's something that comes within and naturally. I have a CD that has a wonderful House/Gospel flavor to it, but it hasn't hit the Radio air waves as of yet. So stay tuned to hear me, so for the moment the track is under wraps for now. I also was in the Military (NAVY) no it's not just a job but an adventure and that it was. I went mostly to all of the Caribbean Islands and did training in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. In memory to Willie Ninja who showed Madonna how to Vogue, we will all miss you Willie. It was Jose and Luis Xtravaganza who were Madonna's back up dancers for the Video Vogue. They taught Madonna how to Vogue when she asked Willie Ninja of the House of Ninja to come and meet her at a dance club and she picked Jose and Luis out of all of the other dancers to tour with her. Jose and Luis are featured in the Vogue Video which they taught Madonna how to Vogue and they also toured with her back in the early 90's. I used to go to the Garage with the Legendary Larry Levan. (IN HIS TRIBUTE, SINCE HE IS NO LONGER WITH US)at the Paradise Garage there were famous singers such as Grace Jones, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Donna Summers, Diana Ross and also Madonna who got her start singing there and at the Roxy's. I went and became a tremendous dancer with spinnings on the dance floor and splits back in the days. I can't forget to mention Roxy's again and the Funhouse!!!! I can't forget to give shot outs to DJ's JellyBean Benitez (Madonnas' mixer) David Dipino (Paradise Garage and Tracks in New York City) and my great friend Troy Parrish...Thank you Guys for the wonderful MOMENTS!!!!!. I can't forget to give shout outs or as we Boriqua say WEPA to The Rock Steady Crew who did break dancing for the movie Flashdance and also to "La Familia" from the Upper West Side of Columbus Avenue. Thanks also to Patricia Fields (House of Fields), thanks for always making me look top notch. Shouts out to Steven (Perfertia) and JoJO. Back in my hey days I did some modeling and Runway and was suggested by Modeling Agencies like Ford, Elite, Wilhelmina, and Funny Face (Commercials) in New York City to do Print or Commercials. For Runway the Men have to start out at 6 feet, to 6 "4 inches, while the women start out at 5 "9 to 6 feet. I finally landed a print job which was so rewarding to see myself on bill boards, subways, buses in New York City back in '95. So I'm glad I did some modeling, but would had preferred to do Runway. Also my wonderful friend Bernard Evans who was chosen out of three consultants when President Clinton was President to style the First Lady Hillary Clinton's hair. Unfortunately he did not get the job, but Bernard look out since she maybe running for President.Hopefully you will have another chance. Keep Pressing. What can I say about Life. I learned and am still living life to it's fullest. So remember to make the best out of each day, regardless of what it looks like. Keep your head up....God is counting on you!!
