Born during a winter storm on December 7 in Buffalo, Ny to Hispanic parents who were told they could never have a child. Till out of the womb I came flyer than a parachute, wit a sky dive swag, you need a telescope too zoom me. Whats my name??
Growing up in Buffalo, Ny and then moving to Dunkirk to keep me out of the constant trouble I was getting into. My family signed me up for drum lessons, which I took for 8 years and adapted quickly. I knew I had a love for music from that point on and started playing drums and percussion in the school marching band. Writing song lyrics for local singers and that was just the start of it all! By age 12, I started freestyle battling against other kids from the neighborhood, writing rhymes , breakdancing with my crew on the corner and also at the local club, where we would battle it out for respect and to catch the eyes of the girls.
Influenced heavily by Harlem rapper, "BIG L" with his unique rap style, I knew this was something that I wanted to do as profession. After outgrowing the breakdance seen, having family issues, being kicked out & dropping out of school, at age 16. I hustled up my money, packed my bags up and moved by myself to Lorain,Oh. Where I met my "Former" producer and friend Jon "Scf" Hamilton. We formed a quick bond, both relating on many issues of life and having the same love for music, we started our own small music team called "SCF" Productions. Jon, who is the beatmaker and myself being the rapper, quickly started making progress with what we had.
We started with a keyboard with a built in microphone and a cheap computer recording program. After figuring out that we really wanted to take this seriously and go big with this, we quickly hustled up money to get a real mic and a mixer which at the time was still cheap but at that, a better upgrade from what we had. We started to work on my first album titled "J.Rosario, Tha Warm up". Which was a great name because it explained it all. This album was just a warm up and as a team we learned together to better the next album. As time went on, the equipment got better and also our name blew up in Lorain, Ohio as one of the most known, popular groups and solo artists.
Known for our beats ,sick lyrics, constant hits and unique style of music. We were living up to the goals and trying to make our dream come true. After a few years with "SCF", I left and moved back to New York, met up with a team who had been doing music locally called "Nu Minds". The members consisted of: Dj UniQue, Geo and D.Train. I joined up with them and have been making music, doing many shows since aboard "Nu Mind". I produce all of my own music, I have my own professional studio, running Pro Tools 7.4 hd and I have all of my own beats. Aside from that, I also produce music for other local artists from the area and im also a radio personality for 88.9 fm Wcvf in the Western New York Area.
I have done more than enough performances, some including opening up for "Bizzy Bone" from "Bone, Thugs n Harmony", "Serious Jones", "Memphis Bleek", "Chip Tha Ripper", "Ron Jermey" etc. I have rocked every crowd along the way with great standing ovations! I have, also put on many shows, out of my pocket for fundraising events. In and out of our city, in an effort to raise money to help feed the homeless, as well as putting on a "Breast Cancer Benefit Show" in my hometown, To help out a local woman and raised over $7,000 and did not ask for a penny of it.
I have a good heart and feel when doing good things for others, good things will come back to you. I just got signed to Universal Records as of 9-11-09 For a complete Distribution Deal. I'm constantly motivated and have set goals, to be the best at anything i do. I have my mind set on being one of the best artists/producers in the industry and I will not stop until I reach my goal. From a cheap keyboard mic, to million dollar studios. I have been there and done that. I am still humble and thankful for what has become and what has been given to me. "Nu Minds" is there for me all the time.
