What I love most about Boulder: driving over the ridge into town on Hwy 36, climbing Mt. Sanitas in the afternoon, the Bookend, the smell of swollen summer raindrops, the numerous like-minded people I can relate to and am attracted to, and of course McGuckin's. Oh... and alcohol-induced naked snow angels out of the hot tub, and swimming in the creek every day. Is that enough? Wait. Sherpa's. Wait. I kinda like shoveling snow off my friends driveways. Is that weird?The most beautiful people I've ever seen live in Jamaica. The most magical place on the planet is Kalalau, Kaua'i. The most amazing song-writers tend to be from North Carolina. My two best friends just fell in love with each other. Isn't that cool? Generally I suck when I'm sober. I fucking LOVE my friends. One of my nicknames is "Journey Bear." One former girlfriend refers to me as "Magellan - because he's always leaving." I must admit, I do like to journey and I know the endless sagebrush of Nevada and New Mexico well. The Mountain West nourishes my soul in a way I can't describe, but only feel. Sorry Jennifer. I can't help it. It's just who I am. I love getting older. And for some reason I keep returning to Boulder. It's the only place that feels like home.
