About Me

As you can see, I haven’t taken time to make this site fancy or inviting. None the less WELCOME to my humble page. I’m glad you stopped by. Mouse around and make yourself at home. I love making music and have been doing it most my life. I was born and raised in the Seattle area. Most of my family still resides there. Seven years ago I moved to Eagle Rock where I share life with my husband Rob, and a wonderful community of friends. There is so much to thank God for, there won’t be enough time in this short life to express it. To convey [or attempt to] my thanks for getting to travel fifty times around the sun and share the grace and love that God has extended to me and the hope exists for all of us brings me great joy. GREAT LOVE, the music project...Well over a year ago, I started working with producer - guitarist, Randy Mitchell on a music project with the working title of: Great Love. Initially I thought [due to budget and respect for Randy’s time] we would knock out 10 or 12 songs inside of 3 months. Randy’s generous spirit and relentless commitment to the process of finding just the right instrument and sound for the moment, slowed the pace and let it unfold without constraints of time and the pressure that can bring. Randy’s tithe of his time and enormous talent have exceeded all my best expectations for this collection of songs. I’m thankful to Richard Souther for his beautiful tracks he laid for us as well as my friend Michito Sanchez on percussion. Kirsten Wenlock generously contributed several songs and her bgv’s still make my heart glad when I hear them. I’m so thankful to Heather Pasley for her worshipful songwriting and anointed vocals that blessed this heart. I’m humbled to call these two amazing women my daughters and friends. My sister, daughter and precious friend, Glaica Robinson laid beautiful vocals on the title cut. I’ve learned so much about worship and missions from Tommy Walker. It is a great honor to sing his songs, "Sweet Jesus Come" and "I Have a Hope" on this cd. It’s been a pleasure to serve the poor and sing with him over these last 7 years. He has been a worship mentor and with his wife Robin a faithful friend and encourager of the Great Love Foundation.I’m still holding out [in my prayers!] for Fernando to join with me on a vocal of "Beautiful Scandalous Night" Thanks for the email Nando! I want to publicly thank Randy for his patience with me during the course of this musical endeavor. Just when we’d be in a flow, I’d up and leave for Jamaica. The birth of this cd and the Great Love Foundation have ended up being deeply integrated and a reflection of the work that my heart has been set toward since 1993. A year and a half ago, I joined forces with a couple in Jamaica to begin a home for transitioning orphans trying to find their way after leaving government children’s homes. It’s been a great blessing and a labor of love to launch this work. I love these kids and have watched many of them grow up. Many of the songs have been written with these young men and women in mind. Worship evangelism to remind us through music of God’s unfailing love and acceptance, has been a priority of Great Love’s work. My hope is to have the Great Love master in my hands by the summer of 08’. We’ll see... Meanwhile I hope the early rough tracks will lift your spirits and bring hope and assurance of God’s great love for you. I’ve uploaded some of these songs in advance of the release to get your reflections and thoughts on them. The Garden cuts are from my work with drummer and songwriter, David Raven. Tribe is a church in Hollywood that centers it’s worship around a drum circle. I’m looking forward to experimenting with David in the continued pursuit of making music and sounds of thanks for the Maker. Thanks for listening. Bless! Carolee

The sonics of Chaylee, Kenna, Story James and Rowan make my heart glad as well as earnest congregations of people singing out their love for God. Robert playing the piano when I'm reading or getting ready to go out. Songs of the nightingale outside my window in the evening and doves in the morning, a paddle dipping into a lake, singing frogs in Jamaica, children laughing, the crack of a bat and subsequent cheers, wind blowing through the trees, waves crashing, streams in motion, drum circles, an olive oil saute with onions and garlic sizzling, a golf ball going into the cup, coffee pouring....... I could go on and on. So thankful for ears!TRIBUTE: This last December my dear old friend, Roby Duke died from a massive heart attack at his home in Briar WA. I haven' t been able to speak to the grief that comes and goes like waves over these last months. I had some of the greatest moments of my life during the many years that we had works in progress. Many songs that never got released are still some of my favorites. [James Taylor says, "you got to save some for yourself"] What amazing times working together on Heather and Kirsten's music. He taught us much about crafting songs and enjoying the process. Singing bgv for Roby on his "Bridge Divine" project was a great honor. His stunning work on my "Here for You: worship cd is a treasure. Check out his last performance a few days before Christmas. "I Shall See God" It is stunning. Rest In Peace R.
