MySpace Editor Rasheed Richmond"The unread story is not a story; it is little black marks on wood pulp. The reader, reading it, makes it live: a live thing, a story." -- Ursula K. Le Guin
First off -- aren't these sections where you give your "favorite books" and "favorite movies" just a funny way of trying to show how cool a person you are based on the media you devour?
Second -- isn't it funny that even if we realize that... even if we know that we're just trying to pose a front and show how different, or how similar, we are to everyone else we still continue on with it? We bash through the guilt of not really revealing everything, like the fact that I secretly like Supertramp and I watch the Gilmour Girls when Kerrie does and I actually enjoy it. You don't hear that from people who are trying to act cool about it all.
Or maybe you do. Maybe that's the other trap we fall into. *sigh* I'm thinking too much.
This MySpace thing is really just an excuse to post comments on other people's sites, so don't go thinking I'm taking this seriously. Please. That would ruin all of my credibility.
What about me, though? I'm an amateur writer, bibliophile, anglophile, and Pacers fan. Three of them commonly go together.
Anyway, go to my blog... it's the reason I'm here at MySpace: Black Marks on Wood Pulp
I live in Sioux Falls, SD, but don't hold that against me. I love this town, even if you don't.
