1999: In the beginning of may 1999 two young men from the Haarlem (Netherlands) music scene, Hip hop DJ Elected and producer Mr. Zystem got together to create of couple of drum & bass remixes of their favorite hip hop tracks. After some tests on dance audiences they decided to form a sound system consisting of synth, drum and DJ equipment called Jagga Bite sound system. With monotonous drum & bass as a base sound the first demo "LIVE"was recorded and in november 1999 the first live performance at the LVC in Leiden was a fact. 2000: After appearing live on 3FM radio the decision was made to experiment with different styles and a second demo "GATHERED"was made. Apart from some hardcore jungle tracks it contained a couple of friendlier tracks amongst which the surprising remix of Manu Chao's "Bongo bong" and Mad Cobra's "Sexy body girl". All these styles were shown in the live shows at various stages throughout the Netherlands. 2001: Ayear of many live shows amongst which Mysteryland, ioFestival, Beeckesteijn and Cozmic. Also in this year the recording of the first full album Insert Credit started. The idea was to create an album that displayed the full range of different styles the duo had adopted, and was suitable for both the living room and the dance floor. 2002: A surprising group of guest artists such as Nicotine and Relax eventually appeared on the mixed album CD "Insert Credit" which became the first official release, through Harlem Jungle records. The first steps in co-operating with singer Nanette D. were made, with whom they made three tracks.
The first official single release became O Superman, also with vocals by Nanette D. It was released on both CD single and 12". The video played on MTV, TMF and The Box in the Netherlands. After that, a period of silence came up... 2003: After the small success with the "O Superman" video, the boys took a 2 month break to discover new ideas and make new plans. The management changed from P-Edge music to Adapt Music agency, so mr. Zystem could free up more time to work on new tracks. In june the announcement came that DJ Elected was to leave Jagga Bite sound system because he wanted to work on his own material. 2004: The Adapt Music management agency cancelled the agreement to manage Jagga Bite sound system. Mr. Zystem was now on his own and working on a new album called "Beats & Physics". After selling off a lot of gear from his studio, he bought a new PowerMac and started off producing again. 2005: With a few live shows every now and then, Jagga Bite sound system is at a sleeping level but still working on "Beats & Physics". Mr. Zystem is looking for vocalists to complete the album. For those of you who thought JBSS was gone, no way! Beats & Physics will be mr. Zystem's own breakbeat / drum & bass interpretation of the 2005 computer oriented lifestyle. Loads of distorted bit crushing beats are coming up... 2006: Backcatalog of Jagga Bite sound system was added to the iTunes music store and about 50 other international download stores. The new album "Beats & Physics" was finished and released in august.
