My name's Chris. I'm a 25-year old graduate from UNC-G. Now I'm an English teacher in Japan (who, thankfully, didn't come here through NOVA).
I'm usually seen as "that funny guy" or "that loud drunk" or "that white guy who wishes he was Japanese." I spent a year studying abroad in Nagoya, Japan, and so now I'm kind of addicted to the whole Japanese culture thing. But I'm not one of those "OMG iN epISodE 95 oF dRAgoN BalLZ GokU tURned n2 SooPa SaiYANN!!!!!11!!1!1!" type of people. I'm just a normal guy who just *happens* to study the language.
Other things about me? Well, in addition to Japanese, I've studied French and German. I like to play video games. I feel like class is an interruption to my day. I spend way too much of my time on sites like MySpace, Facebook, hi5, and mixi. I love my digital camera. Smoothies aren't as great without Minna. I have a Nickelodeon alarm clock. I miss my Japanese host family's cooking. Shirts should always be worn with the collar popped. TRL needs to start playing music again. Ashton Kutcher shouldn't talk so much. The Black Eyed Peas are better at making music than they are at making music videos. Rhianna cannot sing. The Janet Jackson Super Bowl thing wasn't really that big a deal. Nor is the Paris Hilton jail thing. Most Americans don't know anything about the other countries in the world. Gitaroo-Man is the best game ever. The Simpsons hasn't been watchable in about seven years or so (though the movie was alright). One Piece Naruto. Kanji is awesome. I wish I knew Spanish. Beer is an acquired taste. The Japanese food you get at those American Japanese steakhouses isn't what Japanese food tastes like. American football sucks. Napoleon Dynamite is the worst movie ever.
