SHIVA

Shiva’s main member is Mats Edström (guitars, songwriter, producer ) and Anette Johansson ( lead and background vocals, co-producer ). This has been the case the two first album “Shiva s.t” (2002) and “Desert Dreams” (2004). Shiva was formed by Mats Edström and Anette Johansson 2001 and they decided to record an album by themselves.The first album “SHIVA s.t” got great reviews all over Europe and Japan, so did also the following up album “Desert Dreams”. On SHIVA’s new album “The Curse of the Gift” SHIVA has become a band and the new members are Mats Ottosson (comp guitar ), Mattias Höijer ( bass ), Mikael Malmborg ( drums ) and Niclas Olson ( keyboard ) who was guest musicians on “Desert Dreams”. Niclas has with his playing found a wider dimension in SHIVA’s sound.The music can be described as melodic progressive rock/metal but we describe it simply as modern melodic hard rock. The music’s range from ballads, and dark heavy rock and the lyrics are very important on each of the songs. “The curse of the gift” has been written under two year’s time and with no musically compromises what so ever.
