one more drink, I'm sure I'll feel fine...

About Me

Originally from the South Shore of Massachusetts in the wonderful town of Scituate, Brian Carroll grew up with the soulful licks of Stevie Ray and twangy southern country rock stylings of Skynyrd as a kid growing up. For years and years the music burned inside his soul, getting out through his fingers while sitting at the bench of his grandmother's piano and copying her hands an octave lower as she played Amazing Grace and God Bless America. Finally at the age of 12, mustering up enough money from a paper route, he was able to buy his first hunter green electric stratocaster guitar and played in a cluster of bands throughout high school and college. But after realizing that with bands comes other ideas of what "music" really is , Brian decided to give up the noise and attempt a solo acoustic career. Giving him the ability to create what HE wants how he wants it.With a spastic, yet rhythmic playing style, Brian emulates the playing styles of jammy artists such as Keller Williams and Willy Porter. While his lyrics and heart truly lie with those of Americana legends good ol ' Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. Brian has been called a cross between Joe Bonamassa and James Taylor for his love of blues and hopes to someday be heard for 'Brian' and not that someone who sounds like a mix of musician X, Y and Z stereotype. Brian feels he draws his inspiration from a blend of music that spans generations, from legends like Cash, Williams, and Watson, and modern day songwriters, such as Ryan Adams, Glen Phillips, and bands he hears around his Boston music scene.Brian is now doing his best to create his own niche in the Boston music scene. Opening for friends bands, acoustic nights at any bar that will have him and just trying to get someone to listen to what he has to say...if one person digs it, then it is all worth it in the endBrian also has two side projects...one acoustic with his longtime guitar partner in crime, Mike Garland called the B n' M Acoustic Revue and also another 3 piece with Mike and Chris Liberty on drums known as the Jammin' Juicers.NEW BLOG!!!
