I was born, raised and reside in Jersey City,NJ. Music was somewhat of a big part of my life as I was growing up but not major. I didn't discover I had a voice until I was about 11 years old. I noticed how "big" my voice was when I was singing in my living room one night when no one was home. Hearing the sound of my voice assured me that I had a gift. I started singing in church at age 13 and was accepted into the Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) High School Program, where I enhanced my musical tastes and skills.In this program I was introduced to Musical Theater, something that I'dnever thought I'd see myself doing. And ironically I was casted in all of the yearly musicals, and also landed the lead in one production in my Junior year. Which gave me even more confidence to pursue my dream. And this brings me to how I got into Opera. I was never into opera, in fact I was like everybody else that didn't like it. I felt it was boring and the singing was too loud and I couldn't understand what they were saying. Until one night when I was bored at home watching tv, I came across a woman that changed my mind completely about Opera. Sarah Brightman. Her voice was so captivating that it was almost hypnotically to me. I was hooked! I knew then and there that in order to learn more about my voice, more about singing that I had to take lessons.Which is why I applied, auditioned and was accepted to go to school at Westminster Choir College. This was all new to me. I came to that school all natural, with a R&Bish voice. Where I started taking lessons from the only voice that I ever had Faith Esham. This woman has really really helped me in developing my voice. I sang in languages that I never thought I was ever sing in. And I loved every minute of it!Unfortunately, I didn't finish Westminster for reasons I don't wanna explain. But it has happened my eyes and my mind about being diverse. To which brings me to the present, I am currently working on my own original music. Something that I am very excited about and I can't wait to get my music on here so you all can hear what I have to say musically.
