Michael Fein Biography
Michael Fein's enthusiasm for songwriting and performing is contagious, and whilst indulging these passions Michael has earned himself two national releases, a long and growing history of live performance, national airplay and commercial television appearances.
Michael grew up in Melbourne, Australia, where at age fifteen he began writing. One of his songs made its way around and consequently was heard by a radio personality on a youth-orientated Hitz Fm. Michael was invited on air to perform an acoustic version. The response from listeners was so overwhelming the recorded version of the track was then added to rotation.
One copy of his experimental EP landed in the lap of ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) HALL OF FAME Inductee Lobby Loyde. The two formed a bond immediately and began working on developing a refined sound for Fein’s poetically and philosophically charged songs.
Over the years Fein has nurtured international opportunities, writing and performing in Europe.
In 2005, Fein recorded Outer line, a five track EP which received airplay on radio stations around the country. The video clip to the single ‘Human’ was added to the play list of a national music program. Fein promoted the album with interviews and acoustic performances on various radio stations. Distributor giant MGM picked up the EP and stocked stores around the country.
After listening to Fein’s new collection of songs following on from ‘outer line’, Lobby Loyde was impressed. Loyde began building a new recording studio and invited Michael to start recording his debut album The Odyssey, with Loyde as producer. It took Fein and Loyde fifteen months to complete.
On 23rd August 2008 The Odyssey was launched with a huge show at Premier Melbourne venue, the Hifi Bar. Fein didn’t disappoint the eager crowd, with a bold, energetic and assured performance. MGM picked up The Odyssey for national distribution. Fein was invited to appear on 'The 9am show', aired daily nationally on commercial network 10, amongst other programs) Radio stations began airing their favorite tracks immediately.
