About Me

The award winning Sprite Soul Comedy Tour is the first black comedy tour in Africa. The tour showcases the countries professional and amateur stand up comedians in theatre style venues and club events. The tour started in November 2001 at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre with Shabba, Marc Lottering and Cory "Zooman" Miller from Def Comedy Jam. The show received an overwhelming response from the press, entertainment industry and public at large. Brand Sprite's return on investment reached over 4000% and has most recently reported a 2% increase in sales since the association with the comedy industry. With this success Sprite decided to move it's focus from Basketball to Comedy. The Soul Comedy Tour was Sprite's single largest project in AfricaWe have completed a 3 city tour from Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town (31 May-02 June) with Mark Sampson, Kurt Schoonraad, Riaad Moosa, Jocelyn Jee (UK) and hosted by Desmond Dube. Through our amateur searches which took place over the past 6 months (Mar - Nov 2002) we have discovered over 120 new aspiring comedians and selected 12 winners who will compete for R10,000 and loads of prizes. This years shows (12 & 14 December 2002) which includes Mark Curry (from hanging with Mr. Cooper) the return of Cory Zooman Miller, David Kau, John Vlismas and Riaad Moosa marked the 1 year anniversary of Sprite Soul Comedy. In the future you can look forward to seeing Sprite Soul Comedy in other regions throughout the continent. We are taking comedian bios now for our upcoming new season for 2006-2007 shows in South Africa.
