I'm going to buy one of these headstalls, but I can't decide which! I like them both.
A has plenty of silver and I like the star pattern. The flaired cheek piece is very trendy.
B also has plenty of silver and I like the stars and moons pattern. The rounded full silver ear pieces are also trendy. I like how the cheek peice is full silver too.

I live on a farm with my family. We have 17 horses. They consist of Paint Horses, Quarter Horses, Arabians, Miniature Horses, a pony, a Tennessee Walker and an Appaloosa. The Appaloosa is one of my horses. His registered name is Valley Home Jack, but we call him Ice, not just because he's all white, but because he's "cool as ice." He's 9 years old. I got him for a graduation present 3 years ago. If you know anything about horses, you can read the next few paragraphs, if not, skip ahead cuz this will be a bunch of jibberish if you're not familiar with the "horse world."
Ok so Ice... is nice... First of all, he is BEAUTIFULLLL! When you think of an Appaloosa, you usually think of a spotted horse with an almost non-existant main or tail. Ice has enough main and tail for 5 Appaloosas! He has both blue eyes with spots of brown in them if you look up close. When I got him, he was completely white but the middle of his main is starting to get a greyish color in in it and his tail is getting dark too, not just from being dirty. he's starting to get small spots on his chest and around his eyes, but it's really cute. They say he was "born broke." He had 30 days of training before we bought him but he was really mellow and quiet. He has a naturally low headset and a naturally slow walk. His jog is getting really nice. His extended trot is ok. His lope... Is WONDERFUL! It's not "smooth" cuz that would be like 4 beating (which he can do but why should he). It's flowing. I feel like I'm flying but my upper body stays in place and my lower half moves with him. He's had a few months of training from a wonderful trainer/riding instructor, Lisa Erhardt, who he will be going back to in the spring for a tune up. I will also take more riding lessons on him come spring so I can learn how to solve problems myself, and start to finish learning how he "works." I have also taken lessons from another awesome trainer/riding instructor, Jessi Gryskiewicz, and look forward to showing in the same classes as her at the shows this summer!
2 summers ago, Lisa and Ice did surprisingly well, for Ice being to his first several shows. ICE GOT *FIRST PLACE* IN WESTERN PLEASURE AT THE *MINNESOTA STATE FAIR*!!! She also showed him in several local (North Metro) WSCA shows in Western Pleasure, Western Horsemanship, English Pleasure, and English Equitation. They got reserve high point at one show and several other awards at the others.
This last summer, was my first show season with Ice. I didn't start out well, because at the first show we went to of the season, my saddle came loose at the canter and I had to jump off! It was no fault of anyone, except for bad fit of saddle. I swear I tightened the girth well and I did not put any sort of slippery product on the saddle area... I SWEAR!!! That misshap did cause me to not show any hunt seat classes for months, but that was ok because I had my mom show him in the open hunter under saddle class at the Minnesota State Fair where he got 1st place!!! Every time my mom shows a horse for the first time in hunter under saddle at the state fair, she wins it!!! I was so happy I almost cried. when they anounced them in first place, I stood up and shouted "THAT'S MY HORSE!!!!" as loud as I could. We ended our show season on an awesome note when I got over the hunt seat thing and cantered him in warm up the day of the show at Northwest. It was the first time I showed in every event since dinky little 4H. I showed in all the novice classes and ended up getting reserve-high point.
I also show my miniature horse Galahad that I've had for 6 years. I show him at whatever local shows have driving classes, and so far have gone on to the WSCA Champ. Show Every year since '04 where I have placed each time. This year I got 8th out of 15 horses, which is funny because I went there to get "My brown 8th place ribbon." I wanted a brown ribbon.
The thing we look forward to every year is the Minnesota State Fair. We show in the Miniature Horse Driving and Halter Classes and we show our Western Type Horses the weekend after. It's really a blast because we keep our horses in the horse barn and decorate our stalls and sometimes stay the night at the fair. It's fun to watch the hundreds of spectators come into your aisle and look at your horses. They ask so many questions about the horses and I'm always happy to answer their questions and talk about the horse world. It's fun to take the minis for a walk around the horse barn and everyone you pass goes "oooooh!" or "Look at the 'pony'!" (which they are not ponies, lol) It's fun to hear what questions people ask and they are usually the same 7 questions. lol. Each year we do better than the last year. This year, we got 3rd in one of our driving classes, which is REALLY good because the 2 horses that did better are really nice and unbeatable, so we beat every horse possible, including my dad's. hehe. I am so proud of Galahad because he is such a good boy and works really hard. I know he knows when we are showing, he is such a ham. Kinda like me :P
If you read this whole section, thank you for taking time to let me brag. hehe. I love my life on the farm with the horses, and I'm so thankful for everything I have and all the experiences I've had, too. I'll post some pictures of my horses and such and post show pictures when I get them.
My birthday is June 17 ;)
