JYPI was born and raised in Korea and started singing gospel music when I was 8 years old. I came to the States 2 years ago to take my music to the next level and work with the King of R&B R. Kelly. I have been influenced by old-school soul and R&B artists like Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder. Keep a look out for some new sounds coming from me and R. Kelly on my first album.
