About Me

What follows now is the OFFICIAL BIO of The Trained Actor...
Jonathan Nail originally hails from the cornfields of Illinois and holds a B.F.A. in Acting from the Professional Actors Studio at the University of Illinois. During the summer of 1993 he studied under Ben Kingsley at the prestigious British American Drama Academy (BADA) in Oxford, England. Although he is a classically trained actor, his love for musical theatre keeps him singing on stage with the likes of Jason Alexander, John Rubinstein and Robert Morse.
Jonathan made his television debut on the Christmas Trees episode of "Malcolm in the Middle". In July of 2006 he created the role of Glenn Webb in the World Premiere of Zsa Zsa Gershick's "Bluebonnet Court" at the Hudson Mainstage Theatre in Hollywood.
Jonathan is also an avid homebrewer. He won a Gold Medal (English Ale category) in 1997 at the America's Finest City Homebrew Competition in San Diego, CA. Always tinkering with his recipes he plans on opening a brewpub of his very own someday. He is also a frequent blogger , but rarely blogs about beer.
Now the UNOFFICIAL BIO:
I am also a father, graphic artist, general handyman with a skill for power tools (but I never have enough time to use them) and I love nothing best than sitting around with my family and friends doing little next to nothing.

My Interests

Acting, Homebrewing, Raising my Gilli-bean, Road Tripping and making Homemade Jam.

I'd like to meet:

Hmmm... Let me get back to you on this one.

Music:

I like a lot of types of music and don't really have one band in particular that I can't go a day without listening to...

Movies:

Hey folks! I'm starring in a new web series called "Ask You Movie Review." See our first episode below.

Television:

I LOVE all SCRIPTED TV. Reality TV can die and burn in hell. It takes away jobs from talented writers and actors. That being said...

I no longer have enough time to watch all the shows I Tivo. I try to catch at least one or two episodes of all new shows that hit the air. Then I usually have a stock 8 to 10 shows I watch on a regular basis. Really loving Battlestar Galactica, Mad Men, and 30 Rock.

Books:

Buy Adam Felber's book. He's a good friend of mine and this really is a funny, albeit weird, book:

Heroes:

My mom.

My Blog

#002: Classes, Headshots, Auditions... Oh My!
