About Me

In my humble but accurate opinion I'm one bad ass chick. I grew up in suburbia but quickly conned my dad into buying me a horse. That's pretty much what my life centers around is my horse and rodeo. I love just about everything to do with horses and the outdoors.
I'm a far cry from girly, but I do clean up nice. It's just that I'd rather throw on jeans, tshirt and ball cap and go play in the dirt than worry about twisting my ankle in some insane pair of heels. I can handle a few days of camping and ignore the greasy hair in favor of enjoying a few rounds of beer at the camp fire. When I'm not playing with my horse I love to read. A lot of my reading is of the instructional variety (photography), but I can just as easily curl up with some fiction. Movies are another habit, ranch life has usually ment no cable TV so I love nothing more than a good DVD sale at Best Buy. My tastes are ecclectic from independant films to stuff so cheesey I'm embarrassed to say I own them.
My most all encompassing passion outside of my horse is my photography. I've shot weddings, portraits, landscapes, artsy nonsense, but the biggest thrill I've ever gotten from taking pictures is inside the rodeo arena. You just can't beat that. One day I want to be a PRCA photographer but that's a while off.
In addition to my horse I have two dogs, Hank (aussie) and Lucky (terrier mutt). Both were rescue/pound dogs. I love those kids to bits! Sure they're a little set in their ways, but aren't we all? Nothing beats cuddling up with furry black dog after a crummy day.
In a nut shell I'm a smart assed, sarcastic, opinionated, goof ball. I love to laugh, and make others laugh. Always up for a good time, especially if it means trying something new.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Eventually? Eventually I'd like to meet a kick ass guy who is the cheese to my macaroni. No big hurry or worry there since my taste apparently sucks. In the mean time I'm composing a list of must haves in my next significant other. Priority number one: MUST play fiddle because that's just HOT! Then of course it would help if he was relatively cute, had his own horse, truck, cattle dog.... A girl's got to have priorities.
So that leaves openings for friends, lots of them since I'm new to the area and all my buddies are back in OR. A few I left in CA. I need to stop making interstate moves eh?
I totally dig hanging out with other photographers, no matter what type of photography they're into. There's always something to learn, even from product photographers.

My Blog

My name in print

The folks at the restaurant seem to think they’re punishing me by taking away my shifts for missing a shift I didn’t know about, but that’s okay. I’m actually having a weekend!...

Police the 80’s princess, not my pants

Business casual, a phrase that strikes fear into my heart. Not only does it mean buying and wearing crap I hate, but it also means fascinating interpretations. I have a hearty stable of western button...

We’re born alone, we die alone, for everything in between, there’s PhotoShop

I wonder sometimes if everything truly does happen for a reason, and if so what that reason is? Is it to make you feel awful? Or lonely, because if so than I believe it. Who knew such a simple chain o...

Sillyness, Frozen Dead Guys, Friends, and Tea Baggers

Oh where to start, where to start. It's only Tuesday and so far, pretty decent week. A few nagging minor stress factors, but what can you do? In the last few days I've rediscovered my silly and it's a...

After yesterdays suck fest, and my first trip to Dave and Buster's succeeded in cheering me up a bit I decided to get back on the horse so to speak. I really, really, really wanted to just pack up and...

A Revolution with Ink and Stamps

I purchased a blank card the other day to send to the gals who interviewed me at Rocky Mountain Clothing to say thanks. I tried really hard to find something that looked like I was the kind of person ...
