THE VERBAL ARTISAN

About Me

THE VERBAL ARTISAN “reflecting the streets, so don’t expect friendly poetry”The Verbal Aritsan is an extremely talented artist. She comes with the passion and aggression rarely seen or displayed by females and her unrelenting approach to issues faced by many individuals whether man, woman or child causes people to reflect internally to issues surrounding them. Her fearless approach to topics and dominating stage presence captivates audiences of all ages. She paints vivid images through words causing onlookers to feel the pain, joy, trauma or anger of each piece. The Verbal Artisan was born and raised in Queens, N.Y., and has been an avid creative writer since she could formulate sentences. Being that she grew up in the era where creativity and individuality was prevalent she does not seek to blend in with other artists. She takes great pride in getting important messages to those who would most likely not care about or pay attention to otherwise. She grew up around artists due to her father being a videographer. He would take her with him when video taping documentaries or conducting interviews with those that are now considered legends in the Hip Hop arena. The Verbal Artisan has performed at York College multiple times, the annual Jamaica Arts & Music Festival (JAMS Festival), the National Black Theater, End of the Weak at Club Pyramid, The Knitting Factory, Technology Resource Center for Encounters in Black Traditions, Fusion 215 for Eddie Love of WBLS, N.Y. Perks, Remote Lounge, Stay Lounge, Real’s Lounge, Chucky’s, Samuel Huntington (P.S. 40), the annual Show and Prove at Harriet Tubman (P.S. 154), Stop the Violence Unity Tour, and participated in the annual Rapathon of 2008 held at the Magic Johnson Theater. She co-wrote insights with a hip hop artist, Webbafied for an album he recorded with a band, Phonk Addiction in Europe. In 2005, she self-published a poetry book entitled: “The Verbal Artist presents: Reflections of the Street part 1”. She has also been aired on television stations throughout the tri-state area.QUEEN OF THE EARTH
