Kemikkiran (Bonebreaker) is a slap-oriented composition. It was recorded live in November 2003, in Detay Music Studios, Ankara; using a Carvin Anniversary 4-string equipped with Bartolini pickups (see photos) and an Ampeg B2R head, direct to desk. Thanks to Volkan Yirtici for recording, mixing and adding the crazy pitch shifting effect heard in the background for closing (the foreground bassline is played live!!!) This song has been awarded No.1 prize in a bass guitar contest named "Basstar", organized by a Turkish bass web site www.basgitarist.com!!!...................................... ............................................................ .........................2. Masumiyet (Innocence) is an old composition dating back to 1995; partly lost in time and re-written twice (on tape at last!!!). Recorded live via the same equipment as above at a different session ............................................................ ............................................................ ...........................3. Tovbekar Barbar (The Penitent Barbarian) was written in 2001 as a tribute for Jonas Hellborg. The original song was included in the self-produced solo fretless album; this updated version was recorded live and mixed in April 2004 by Volkan Yirtici who also added delay, flange and reverse effects heard in the performance. Recorded direct to mixer by an SWR Grand Prix and a Carvin Anniversary fretless 4-string with Bartolini pickups. Those who had been to Tenedos sessions in 2003 would instantly recognize this song, for it had been played many times as a solo piece. Scroll down to check out the live performance video of this song (who says you should not slap on a fretless?) ............................................................ ..................................
