This is not about me. This is about God. He gave me this life. And it is his to take away. I only have stewardship of this life for a little while. And I want to use it on behalf of the one who gave me this generous gift.
The next thing I need to say, since it is the one thing that gets missed most often, is that I am not here for dating or serious relationships. I am here for friendship and fellowship.
Just because I'm a religious person doesn't mean I'm going to thump the Bible or be judgmental. Those kinds of things don't work because they intimidate or bore people. And knowing scripture chapter and verse doesn't make anyone a better person. If it does, then the Pharisees had it right.
I believe in covenant theology, to which my brief description is that God keeps his promises, even if we break ours. I'm not a fundamentalist. I'm not a dispensationalist. There are plenty of people who claim to be religious while they are only using religion as a means to achieve power. I don't believe there is truly such a thing as a holy war on this Earth.
I know quite a bit about the pre-millenialists, post-millenialists, and millenialists. I'm a pan-millenialist. I trust God that it will all work out in the end.
This may be a strong view for some, but as a Christian, I cannot truly be an American. A man cannot serve two masters. The early Christians, no matter where they were, saw themselves as foreign nationals wherever they lived. Their kingdom was not of this Earth. If America and God differ, I choose God.
