Roland Lopez began DJing in 1996 in Connecticut USA, where he purchased his first belt driven tables out of his college tuition money. He learned how to manipulate the decks on his own with his own innate ability.
His first start ascended by one of Boston's legendary DJs Felix of Boston Beat Records. He gave Roland a chance to open up for him and while doing so, it caught the ears of many. Soon the buzz was out that a new DJ was on the scene apart from the regular locals. Surely enough, more gigs more gigs were offered to quench the enthused crowd.
Roland Lopez established several club and lounge residencies. Roxy (Boston), Mantra, Caprice, La Boom, Pravda and many more were under his belt. He was booked to play at various after-hours clubs with Boston's local talents: Taner K, Rick Naples, Joe Mama and Groovefire. The time had come to revel among the big stars and thus entered his defining moment in the music industry. He had a chance to open up for world known DJs/producers Deep Dish, Saeed & Palash and Boy George. Well it did not stop there.
Seeing that he was unparallel to the other local talents, he was constantly booked for various other events one of which was the infamous Halloween Playboy Party. Here he got a chance to mingle with Miss August 2001, Miss April 2000 and a few others in attendance. Mixing is just one of his fortes, besides his charm and charisma. Roland later went on to DJ at various other private events held in penthouses and yachts. He was the most wanted DJ.
I am currently residing in Kuwait and life is completely different on these shores. However music is universal and I try my best to reach audiences far and wide, across the globe. I do hope to venture out to different places through DJing and furthermore through my productions.
Having been a resident at Felt, one of Boston’s biggest lounge and entertainment center, he had a chance to mingle with Sean Penn, Clint Eastwood, Lawrence Fishbourne and various others who were out there due to film shoot. Being among the stars was his unforgettable moment.
Finally after accumulating all the experience, he managed to DJ in Miami in 2004 at the Winter Music Conference. The Winter Music Conference is synonymous for electronic music. Here all the big producers and new talents converge for a week in Miami to show off their work, to exchange rapport and sharing their work. Roland displayed his versatile talent at club Tantra, the pool party at the Clevelander Hotel and at the sexy club, Pearl.
A recent stint had Roland playing in Portugal the summer of August 2006. He played at Swell club , a swank and plush club located in the south of Lisbon and at Delmare Beach club. At both spots he rocked the crowd begging people for more and it was at Delmare alongside DJ Paul Rodhy of Mix FM, he was asked to DJ with him at club DXL. While in Lisbon, he was booked to DJ in Algarve, a beautiful city in the south of Portugal. Central Station, one of Algarve’s hottest tourist hangouts was where he displayed his outstanding skills yet again.
Roland Lopez is extremely versatile in his style of playing, blending in various genres of house music but it does not stop there. Lately he has been heard playing Hip Hop, RnB, Reggaeton, Arabic and Funk. Whatever he feels he can dance to and will in turn get people moving, is what he plays.
Besides his burgeoning passion for DJing, Roland brings with him a sense of style. You could describe his session as sexy and captivating. Roland is someone to watch out for; I assure you he will get you moving and gyrating to his scintillating beats leaving you asking for more.
