About Me

I began playing in the early 1960s with the idea of becoming a folk singer, but I decided to concentrate on solo guitar after hearing John Fahey . In the 1970s, after intense study and wood-shedding, I signed with Kicking Mule Records . I recorded three solo LPs and toured Europe and the US for six years.

Eventually I settled in San Francisco and in 1983 I became part owner of a small guitar shop. I worked behind the counter there, continued to play locally, teach and produce a few concerts. In the 1990s I started Dale Miller Productions and recorded Both of Me , Fingerstyle / Slide duets of Jazz Standards. In 2001 I released Azzurro Verdi , guitar solo renditions of Opera Arias. Most recently I released Time Goes By featuring updated arrangements of some of tunes I recorded in the 1970s. My other recordings include an EP Length CD on which I accompany singer Alison Faith Levy , and a 1994 Fantasy Records re-release of my 1975 LP Fingerpicking Rags . I'm on a couple of anthologies including a 2006 John Fahey tribute CD on Takoma Records.
