I watch wayyyy too much t.v., and most of it is embarrassing. I am proud of my Red Dwarf fanaticism. The Brits know how to do two things better than anybody else: rock hard and joke silly.
Anything and everything by Nabokov (although to be honest Ada is still basically sitting on my shelf unread), and other Russians (these are probably spelled wrong: Tergeniev, Bulgakov, Chekhov, Dostoevsky, Chernyshevski, Ilf & Petrov...etc.); Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass, Sedaris, Thompson, Camus, Fitzgerald, Sartre...totally pretentious.
I'm not really the "heroes" kinda gal I guess. It seems like just setting yourself up for disappointment.
