When not working the worst hours/shifts that my employer enforces i try to write songs ,play guitar and very occasionaly play some gigs-Full time employment and mortgages are no good when you want to spend time making music!!!.
Formerly known as Not as in Ben(RIP) i now go by my own name not sure exactly why- but perhaps folk only knowing me as "Ben" had something to do with it.
I have not been in the position to be able to record any of my newer songs recently so the ones above have been around for a while.
When i do get time which seems to be never these days, i like to try and do a bit of work with Al Wright and Craig Butler from Glasgow band Some Boy (who i used to help out by playing bass - until i was found out haha)
I "helped" Al write a couple of tracks for Someboy's soon to be released "The Ten Bob Recordings" (helped in the broadest possible sense lol)Which was basically throwing him a couple of lines to add to his already written songs and playing a riff on my keyboard ,which gave Al the basis to come up with the lyrics and melody for "The Story of TIMS and TAM D" Check out their twist on my wee acoustic song " Time Spent" when the album is released, which they have managed to turn into an epic!(hope you are reading this lads!!)
Hopefully I will be able to get some more recording done with my newer stuff in the not too distsant future, this will give me some more amunition to put towards my long running project- Previously called "Off the Parade" Now called????????? ahh who knows-I'll come up with a name for it at some point.
Although this is only likely when the grace of God and time allow!And I aint a believer!!!
