My Life from High School On:Was an Eagle Scout, camped in subfreezing temperatures, and in the heat of desert. Graduated with honors from Hill City High School at Mt. Rushmore. Started College at the South Dakota School Of Mines and Technology (Rapid City, SD) - Chemical Engineering Major. I joined a fraternity - Theta Tau. I changed majors then double majored in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. I completed a summer National Science Foundation - REU researching polymers (specifically poly-methylmethacrylate i.e. plexiglass) and coloring them with dyes. I finished BS in Chemistry and went on to get an M.S. In Chemical Engineering. I did research in creating structural foams using carbon dioxide (environmentally friendly vs. pentanes, etc.) as the foaming agent. I recieved M.S. in Chemical Engineering in July of 2001. I was always interested in nuclear science (earned the merit badge), and had and uncle that was very interested in the nuclear submarine navy; so, with the economy bad and a family just started that needed to be supported; I joined the Navy. I also did it to see what my relatives before me experienced, as well as for the country, and for my family (Grandpa, uncles). I completed OCS (Marine Corps trained - Navy Owned) in Sept of 2001 and was commisioned an officer in the Navy. I did 6 patrols aboard an SSBN submarine (Ohio Class). I am 2 years out of the Navy and believe I will still serve my country better in providing electricity to all of us consumers out there. How else do we power these COMPUTERS?
