Like a blindfold over your eyes - the music industry, the media, the news, and even the government is designed to conceal the truth from the people. What happens when this blindfold is removed - Would we be ready for the TRuTH? The first step to redemption is being honest with ourselves. Honesty is a scarce resource in the modern world of hip hop. The difficulty lies not in finding new ideas, but escaping the old ones. Most emcees are dedicated to living an imaginary life of crime, drugs, and violence. TReZ is a visionary artist that will revitalize the world of music. A producer with an ear for true art, a beatsmith with engaging tracks, and an innovative lyricist with revolutionary rhymes: TReZ is the TRuTH.
Born in Honolulu in June '84, TReZ moved to Columbia, SC at age three. Even as a baby, he has always been drawn to music. He wanted to play the guitar like his father, and got his first guitar when he was six. Quickly frustrated and unpatient, the guitar sat in a closet gathering dust. But at age twelve he found a true natural talent. From the first time he sat at a drumset he knew where his real passion was. Starting a rock band in the sixth grade, "Hostage" played at school talent shows and community events. Over the course of the next six years, TReZ would provide drum beats for several rock bands in his local market. Being a paid musician as early as age fourteen played a big part in his decision to persue music as a career. It was around that same time that he began experimenting with recording in his bedroom. With nothing more than a computer mic, free software, and a radio shack keyboard, he began recording everything he could wrap his ears around. Cypher sessions, drum solos, midi beats - his bedroom studio was his sanctuary to escape the troubles of real life.
The TRuTH's passion for art is rivaled only by his passion for money. These polar opposites often contradict each other. Perhaps this is the constant struggle of the Gemini. Before he was old enough to work a legitimate job, TReZ was already on the grind. With the natural gift of entrepreneurship, these avenues opened up a steady source of capital. However, these avenues are not without their risks, and even the most cunning criminals will eventually fail. With many run-ins with the law, everyone finally finds their breaking point. Living three years in the shadow of a lengthy prison sentence, TReZ would either cross the point of no return, or finally focus his life on something positive. Taking his last chance at freedom, TReZ chooses to reach out to the world with something other artists are afraid to give: the TRuTH. !
