On a Journey... Layout Provided By LayoutsPlus.com - Browse Layouts I suppose it would be appropriate to state what qualifies me to write blogs on spiritual development. I could easily state that it is my life, but that would be a bit presumptuous. The truth is, it was my life that set me on a journey of spiritual development. I needed to make some serious changes. I didn't know quite where to start but I had developed some ideas over the years through reading and discussions with friends. Eventually I discovered Reiki. An oriential healing modality used by the Buddhists, which connects one to higher powers. It also awakens the psychic abilities latent within all of us, so they may be used in the Spiritual Healing work you do. Reiki also has an extensive healing effect on the practitioners. I eventually became a Reiki Master/Teacher. I next began to study Chi Kung a Chinese(Taoist) healing form, which much like Reiki uses energy to effect the healing and again there is much personal growth and healing which takes place in yourself as you develop your skills. Then I was led to the practice of Native American Shamanism by an aquaintance who later became my wife. Shamanism is a world wide practice dating back beyond any written history. It has been and is still practiced in many diverse cultures. I studied that belonging to Native American Indians. It too calls upon the psychic abilities of the practitioners, and like the other modalities I have studied, requires as well as creates a Spiritual awakening that results in distinct changes in both your life as well as your belifes. There are as many paths to Spiritual growth and development as there are ideas about it. Interestingly enough none are any better or worse than your desire to change and grow. There are no distinctly correct paths to follow. You do need to develop a serious desire to change your life and also be willing to accept new and different ideas. If one refuses to open thier mind and accept new ideas or refuses to take things on faith then the growth will be slow at best! It should also be noted that many ask God/Spirit for proof of the things we are expected to believe, however it doesn't work that way. We are required to show our complete faith, and that being amply demonstraited then proof will come. Faith first, proof later. Sometimes it's a tough pill to swollow but that's the only way. So now having became an accomplished Shaman, Reiki Master/Teacher, Chi Kung practitioner and spiritual journeyer I present to you the curious and seekers of the world some of the knowledge I have gained over the more than 15 years of my study. Still, I have only scratched the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Dare you start on such a journey yourself? Are you brave, able to face yourself in your darkest forms, willing to stand up to the realization that you are not as wonderful or spiritualy developed as you may believe.
