Jamie Sellers is a 23 year old singer/songwriter from Glasgow. Jamie has been performing and writing music for many years now, appearing at all the best venues Glasgow (and Scotland) has to offer in various different projects. Jamie has appeared for many years as the front man and voice of popular Glasgow pop/rock outfit The Towers, reaching the final rounds of the T-Break selection process, just narrowly missing out on the opportunity to appear at the festival.Born in Liverpool, Jamie was not born into a particularly musical family. Apart from his grandfather, a jazz trumpet player, who encouraged him to take up brass instruments at a young age. Playing French horn, tenor horn, and trumpet, Jamie’s musical interest and ability grew from a young age, playing in regional orchestras and bands. Into his teens Jamie gained an interest in the bass guitar and joined his first pop band at the age of 15. This is really where Jamie Sellers the songwriter was born. Jamie began writing songs not long after receiving his first guitar, and he hasn’t stopped since, having written in the region of 100 songs for various bands and groups he has been apart of, aswell as as a solo artist, Jamie looks set for great things in the industry.
Jamie’s debut single “24 Hours†was released (independently) on the 28th of November, with his debut album “Play On†set for release in the new year. This is jamie’s most exciting and promising work so far (bearing in mind his solo repertoire until now spans over 40 songs!). This 11 track album is bursting with chart potential, each tune has it’s own character and is bound to stick in your head for days afterJamie and his band recently made it through to the area final of Live And Unsigned UK, to take place in Newcastle on the 2nd of May, stay tuned to see how they get on!
