I debuted as a child actor playing opposite Oscar winner Julie Christie in the 1990 Pat O'Connor film Fools of Fortune. I continued to work in the Irish film industry throughout my younger years before training professionally as an actor at Trinity College Dublin.
While in college I was awarded the Haagen Dazs Award and a Training in Acting Award from the Irish Arts Council. I appeared recently in the European premiere of Pulitzer Prize nominee Craig Wright's play Orange Flower Water, which has performed at several venues around Ireland since April 2006. Since graduating my acting degree, I've enjoyed lead roles and strong reviews as Estelle in the existential classic No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre, as Carol in Mamet's politically controversial drama Oleanna, as Dawn in the theatrical adaptation of Swimming With Sharks and as Maggie in the Royal Court's production/world premiere of The Night Garden at The Northcott Theatre in Exeter. I've toured Ireland several times with other theatrical companies and shows.
Film and Televison work includes several independent features and festival screened/broadcast shorts like WC, Intersection Number 9, Duality and Poetic License. I was recently seen on British/Irish screens in an early episode of the smash hit, Emmy nominated Showtime series The Tudors.
I am right now based in London, where I have co-founded Film Venture London - specialising in workshops and short weekend courses for directors and actors - and I'm turning my sights towards LA for 2010.
I also enjoy writing and have recently completed three screenplays - one is a short film script which has been optioned by Emu Productions, one is co-written story segment within a feature length script as part of the Collabowrition project through this site, and the third is my first solo feature, which I'm very proud of. I used to review films for the Campus.ie website, and I currently write Arts features for the Fringe Report here in London. I am the author of a novel called Elysian Fields, which I am preparing to submit to literary agents and publishers. Also I'm really into travel. Drop me a line to say hello!
