About Me

The Amazon Rainforest holds in its jungles a pleathorea of known and unknown medicines for the body and soul. The native healers see each plant as unique, each species possessing its own spirit with curative powers. For centuries, healers have called upon these curative powers to cure the ailments of mankind. The songs that they sing, Icaros, are used to activate the spirit of the plants through ceremony and call forth their spirits along with their cures. However, with the all too rapid deforestation of the rainforest to feed the greed of man, we are loosing the cures and loosing the songs. JAMM is a fledgling non-profit created to help to protect, educate, and raise awareness about the current state within the Rainforest. We hope, through our joint efforts, to be able to educate children about the immense value of the plants that surround them. Today, with the drastic poverty in Latin America, some would do anything to make a dollar, including assisting with deforestation. Through cultivating and promoting the use of natural remedies, we hope to provide a way to make a dollar (or a few!) through conservation and respect. We would like to create a healing center where botanists, shamans, children, professionals, and people from all walks of life can converge to create healing in their lives and the lives of others. We hope to not only save the trees, but to save their songs so that respect for nature may live on for generations to come.
