About Me
My FRIENDS twisted my arm to set up a page for my FANS, so here it is. If you're already my friend you don't have to add yourself, unless you really want to. I maintain some control over this page, so you'll be alright. And don't be in such a hurry, leave a comment before you go (I'll take a snack, dinner or a banquet meal).
ONE LOVE!!!Slim and Trim, I come in @ 6'3", 185lbs. Born in the beautiful Islands of St.Vincent and the Grenadines. A high school drop out. Grew up in a home of five sisters and three brothers. My parents were all about values: work hard, love God and never give up on dreams. Dad was a carpenter, and Mom; she operated the family owned factory, did church and served as the village's Mother Teresa. As a teen I developed an interest for music by compiling my favorite songs from the neighbor€™s musical collection, and listened to them on my eldest brother€™s cassette player. Those were fun days as the girls in my neighborhood competed to braid my hair(as my fro had to be kept in shape). My icon is none other than the legendary BERRY GORDY. I revere him for his role in unleashing the careers of numerous talented artists, which helped to make Motown a national success. My acting career began in New York 12 years ago. Moving to Los Angeles 10 years ago, not only put several national TV commercials under my belt but helped me to find my niche; today I spend most of my time writing screenplays, and currently producing two of my originals "RUDE BUAY" and "THE HUNT", with my best friend of eight years, MARK BURG; A loyal friend who has helped me to believe strongly in my potential. Along with my very busy schedule I'm finding time to ink my second book. Some people create, while others compete. Creating is where the rubber meets the road. And a dream worth having is one worth fighting for because freedom is not free, it carries a massive price tag.THE DESIDERATA"Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy." MAX EHRMANN,1927THOUGHTS LEFT IN THE RECYCLE BINJohn F. Kennedy, the youngest and one of the greatest U.S. presidents affirmed “The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by the skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.†It should be alarming to you that the ideas beckoning a revolution, which will solve most of the world’s problems, including the cure for aids, tuberculosis and cancer, could be sitting idle in the recycle bins of most people’s minds. They are content with inside the box thinking, filled with what I call “the could have been syndrome.†That’s the way millions of people live their lives. They create a world wide epidemic known as “I don’t have what it takes.†One of my associates calls it “no guts.â€Every business, every building, every highway, school, house, song, original screenplay, relationship, everything, begins with a thought. In the book The Magic of thinking Big David Swartz writes “Think: I can do it better, the best is not unattainable. There’s room for doing everything better. Nothing in the world is being done as well as it could be. And when you think I can do it better, ways to do it will appearâ€. Yes, by thinking that way you will turn on your creative powers and like a dam when its flow is released, you become relentless.© 2007 John Alan Andrews.
