I LOVE SPRING!!! I love the smell of snow melting and the world coming back to life. I like sleeping and watching tv. I like coffee and chocolate. I like playing the piano, staying up late snuggled under the covers with a really good book. I like to travel and my list of places I must see keeps growing! Going someday to Peru, Costa Rica and China. We'll see when that really happens... There is a lot of this world I would like to see.
I have met a lot of interesting people in this world. Now wouldn't it be fun to put them all in the same room? I would like to see Kris again. I would like to have all my friends live close. I would like to meet Jesus face-to-face.
I like most music. I like to sing it loudly while I'm driving. I LOVE Jack Johnson, I like Michael Buble, Black Eyed Peas, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, Gavin deGraw, Jeremy Camp, Natasha Bettingfield, Reliant K, downhere, Imogen Heap (thanks to Laura - never knew she existed before), coldplay, the watchmen, keane, matchbox 20 and NOT celine dion (sorry to gwen, but I do love to hear gwen sing!)
Tommy Boy (that's a classic)! I love Garden State, Fight Club, Snatch, The Italian Job, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Rat Race, The Usual Suspects, Empire Records, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Stand by Me, LOTR, Happy Gilmore, and yes, A Walk to Remember and The Notebook... Last movies I went to see were Catch and Release - why did she not have any girlfriends?, the Holiday (sad and corny and good and I cried), Blood Diamond - which actually made me want to completely change my sad, pathetic, me-focused life and do something!
Let's start at the beginning of the week: Prison Break, House, Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Men in Trees, One Tree Hill, the OC (better without Marissa!). I may not have time to watch these shows, but I do anyway (maybe that's why I'm going on no sleep). I mostly like The Amazing Race, Survivor, Big Brother (sucks me in every time). I love any reruns of Friends and Seinfeld.
The Giver, Gathering Blue, The Messenger by Lois Lowry. I have read all the books by Dan Brown, perhaps only because someone told me not to read the DaVinci Code. I read books for fun (like the Complete shopaholic) and books for growth - Heaven by Randy Alcorn. The one book that continues to challenge me is the Bible. It is hard to get into yet reading it allows much to be poured into me!
It will always, always be Kris. Losing him was the hardest thing in life, and I want to be half the person he was! He attacked life with humour and bravery, made each person he encountered feel special (even if he didn't like them), demonstrated strength and gentleness, and he made me laugh - in fact, he could tell a story like no one else. The actual event could have taken 5 minutes to happen and he turned it into a 20-minute story that had everyone around him peeing their pants. There will never be another soul that will touch me so profoundly.
