Hip Hop Dance Canada is a Montreal based company whose purpose is to bring the hip hop dance community together. Through the Canadian Hip Hop Championships, HHDC wishes to give the opportunity to all dancers across Canada to perform and compete with their peers, to eventually represent their country on a global level.The World Hip Hop Championships was founded in the year 2002 by Hip Hop International and started with only 12 countries competing. Today, it has grown to become the official international Hip Hop event of the year with over 30 countries participating, from Brazil, to Japan and Australia. HHDC is proud to be the Canadian representative of HHI and will follow its standards by staying true to the culture of Hip Hop. Moreover, due to the success of last year’s introduction of the B-Boy portion of the competition, the B-Boys are invited back, both at the national level and international level, for even more exposure.Although rules are implemented, as any dance competition requires, originality and authenticity are encouraged. HHDC wants to reach all corners of the nation in order to find the dancers and crews who will have the capabilities to represent what HHDC and HHI stand for. Hip Hop Dance Canada is looking forward to seeing all the talent from around the country and to having the opportunity to expose them to all the culture and talent that is the World Hip Hop Championships.
