The passion and fiery intensity that you see from the guys in Insurgence is not something you’d expect to see from four guys at such a young age, but even so early in their career, they’ve proven that they have the potential to be the band that the heavy metal industry has been waiting to hear.
Insurgence was founded by Ryan Jackson (Vocals/Guitar) and Travis Winsett (Lead Guitar) in the spring of ‘06. The question still lingering is how two people with such artistic visions and an unrelenting passion for heavy music could come out of a small town like Stephenville, Texas. As fate would have it, the two would meet backstage at their high school talent show and share their dreams of playing music for a living. Immediately afterwards, they began practicing together and composing their own style of metal.
When the time was finally right, Insurgence recorded their very first demo CD. Other than the drumming performed by a studio musician, every other instrument was performed by either Travis or Ryan. They had their vision of how the CD needed to sound and how the songs needed to come across, and they felt that they had achieved this with “The Awakening EP”. In May of ’08 they had the finished copy of “The Awakening EP” and were ready to unleash it upon the world. Thus, began their journey of making everyone who loves metal to listen to their music.
Soon after the release of their first demo, Insurgence filled the open slots at the bass and drum positions with Charles Smith and Corey Trump. They are planning on unleashing the fury and getting the word out about their music. By networking and performing live, they will not rest until their dreams of ascending to the top of the metal industry are fulfilled.
