Band Members: Billy Southern: lyrics, vocals, guitar, harp and some foot stomp'n.
Barry Schwartz: lead guitar, slide, and vocals. On "Swamp Dog": the afformentioned and Karl Anderson: upright and electric bass; Ashley Northey: vocals; Charlie Parr: fretless banjo on "Wagon Train"; Jake Larson: Cello on "Dot Com".Who you'll see at a live show: Me, (Billy), & Barry, (unless he's out of town, going to folk festivals in Winnepeg or something.)
Influences: Lately: Steve Earle, The Song Remains the Same remaster (best live hard rock album -EVER.) Speaking of live albums: Dire Straits "Live Alchemy" is a favorite too, but I can't find it on CD and my tape is all but worn completely out... If you know where I can buy it on CD please advise. Reading: "The Guitar Man" and just read "War is a Racket" by Smedly Butler, a former Marine Corps General. Favorite books: "Wild Swans" by Jung Chang; "Angels and Demons" Brown; "The Kite Runner"; "King Lear"; and just about anything Shakespeare ever wrote, though I have yet to read them all. Movies: "The Quest for the Holy Grail"; "Slap Shot"; "Spinal Tap"; "The Shining"; "O'Brother Where Art thou"; "Crossroads"; "Raising Arizona"; and "The Missing" just to name a few.I wanted to add more than just music to the influences list. It should be obvious that we are influenced by everything, but even I think I have to write musicians and bands in this space...I could add nature, the weather, traffic, my dog and family, a good ale, street lights in the rain, etc....
Sounds Like: Hopefully Myself. Come to a show and find out for yourself. Or pick up the cd Swamp Dog. You'll love it!! ;)
