Interview with kin in CityLife (MEN) - here be the linky dink -
CITYLIFE INTERVIEW
"She's an an octave-vaulting chanteuse as capable of close-mic’ed sensitivity as she is raw-throated power, her vocal idiosyncrasies are matched only by the magic of the beguiling soundscapes behind her."
DAVID SUE - MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS
"Still rooted in electronica with John Dean on the bleeps control panels, the addition of Ding (Bobbie Peru, Frank Black, etc) with his sturdy crunching and unmistakeable basslines gives her songs the fiery power of Patti Smith's punk-with-tunes. By the end of the set I am proclaiming to anyone who'll listen that Kin is the best female singer in Manchester right now - a few days later and no longer mashed on Leffe I see no reason to retract this statement."
CATH AUBERGINE
"Sold!"
TOM ROBINSON - BBC 6 MUSIC
"In distinctly Lamb-like ways, Kin makes taut and surprising music that underpins her beautiful cracked vocals brilliantly. She uses sparse touches as sharp as knives to draw you into both maelstroms of dizzying emotion and mists of delicate delights which leave you satisfyingly drained and wanting more."
CHRIS LONG - BBC MANCHESTER...
“Kin offers an angsty, gutteral, eperimental vocal, rising effortlessly to a screaming warble and descending to a low, growling croak at the drop of a hat. Engaging stuff.”
BEN HAYWORTH - SANDMAN MAG...
“A beguiling performance from Kin. Totally focused and wrapped up in her delivery. Warm yet breaking.”
GED CAMERA - The Mag...
