Samantha Robichaud

About Me

Over 200 awards, at 20 Samantha Robichaud is classed as one of Canada's best. Samantha has evolved a smooth unique feel and sound to her fiddle playing and sweet singing style. Her vivacious personality and lively youthful presentation truly presents her as an exceptionally talented upcoming force to be reckoned with. With the addition of Acadian roots her playing is further enriched through a deep love and respect of her cultural background. So far in 2005, Samanthas fourth recording, Vivacious, received two East Coast Music Awards nominations in the Instrumental Artist & Roots/Traditional Categories. She also placed 2nd in the Teen Category (Elmos Reel) in the International Songwriting Competition 2004, with Honorable Mention in the Instrumental Category (Vivacious). Her passion, desire and drive have led her to achieve incredible success in just a short time. In March 2005 Samantha played 8 dates with Dave Gunning and Lennie Gallant that included notable venues such as the Bluebird Café in Nashville and the Knitting Factory NYC. Sam has performed on many prestigious stages including the Grand Ole Opry, Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville, the Calgary Stampede new artist stage and youth stage, Klondike days in Edmonton, the nationally broadcast CBC TV East Coast Music Awards show, CBC Acadian World Congress Closing Show, "A Musical Maritime Odyssey" on the Vision Channel and a truly exciting accomplishment came when Sam was invited to perform for Queen Elizabeth II during her last Canadian visit in 2002. This is just a snapshot of a long list of accomplishments, an already bright career for such a lovely young musician. For more information http://www.samantharobichaud.ca
