NYC born and raised on Underground Rock, Motown and Solid Gold Soul. Once performing with bands in New York City as an organist in Clubs on the Island, Upstate, Brooklyn and The Village I transplanted to Southeast Florida in 1969 and then decided to switch to bass, having some success with original and cover bands playing Blues, Country, Standards, Top Forty, Disco/R&B Dance, Classic Rock and Jazz Rock Fusion in the bar scene. Early on I had a band with guitarists the likes of Sid Jacobs and David Weisbrodt, both of which studied with Vincent Bredice and world famous drummer Duffy Jackson. 30+ year veteran of stage and studio performing with musicians and musical personalities of notariety ranging from local to international. Founder, Lead singer and songwriter of once prominent Coconut Grove band "Good News" featuring saxophonist Charlie De Chante whom you would recognize as memeber of Hall and Oates band. Also I have played the Atlanta area clubs with Mothers of Invention tribute band "Saint Vidas" Featuring Micheal J. Beeson on guitar, various other bands performing in the Underground Atlanta like "Blue Plate Special", Soviet defector Jazz Pianist Vilmos Lukatos and Billy Jones one time member of the Outlaws. Discographry compiled from sessions at Criteria and various known local Southeast Florida, New York City & Louisiana Studios. I play 5 string fretted & fretless electric bass and electric 4 string upright bass.
I'm also a competent vocalist & Songwriter. I strive to be creative, imaginative & technically astute in all my creative efforts. Most importantly I am the real deal when it comes to playing bass in the Fat Back Tradition.
As a teen I spent many days cutting class to go hang around Greenwhich Village. One such day as I walked into an upstairs restaurant on Bleeker & 6th known as the Tin Angel. I spotted Jimi slumped over in a drunken stuper. Noticing his white strat slipping off his lap, I ran over to grab it before it hit the the floor. While shaking his shoulder I called out; Jimi, wake up! Later that afternoon
my friends and I spotted Mickey Dolenz and Davie Jones strutting down McDougal Street. We jeered, shot them the bird and threw whatever we could pick off the ground at them. Oh Yes; I have been to Electric Ladyland and I am experienced.
