About Me

SIXLSIX Show
At the crossroads of hook filled songwriting , oldschool live entertainment , passion felt piano playing and self giving vocal styles you will find Da Mooch (tommy jones) giving his all in any and every musical offering. A third generation musician , Mooch wrote his first song at the age of four and stunned elders when it was recorded by the Southern Empire Band. By the age of nine , and already a regular in the northern California rock and western swing circuit , Mooch had commited himself to the study of song structure and live entertainment.By 13 he had created the foundation of the style that would identify him as an individual. This fusion of great entertainers and their methods , doubled with an almost country writing style of lyric and placed inside a r&b backbeat would then get the rock overtone treatment. Of course this style is always subject to change and can be masked alltogether as evident on the albums Mooch has produced for other artists. Mooch spent the rest of his teenage years playing live , writing , producing , recording and studying the craft , making sure to pay dues. By age 20 Mooch's song catalog was well into the thousands. An intense desire to learn all structure of the hit song and yet remain artistically credible fuelled these works. He has fronted various groups , playing the likes of the Reno Nevada circuit , The Sacramento Jazz Fest, National Western Swing Society functions and venues all across the country. Da Mooch is available for all types of Music Venues including Live , intimate live and private functions in a variety of capacities includied with a massive collection of covers and originals alike. Solo, Duo, trio, full bands, studio work and writing sessions are all accepted. Band Website: you're on it.
Band Members:"I'm all over the place. I believe in true love but I want passion that only one night can produce. I believe in the sun rise but only after a late night. I believe in faith but the house always wins. I believe in Tommy Jones but Da Mooch will set us ablaze... that's as free as you get." - Da Mooch
Influences:Somewhere between Garth, Babyface, Jerry Lee, Billy Joel and Guns and Roses... It's nice how music doesn't have to make sense like that.
Sounds Like:My Music comes from all that I am. It's the sound of constant living. It's the sound of every woman kind enough to love , leave or be left by me... and the hope there's a lot more where that came from. It's the sound of the last hour in the night when you still believe something great might happen. It's the sound in the smoke of the last cigarette of the night over coffee. It's constant passion ...
