Why do people always talk about the weather?

About Me

How can someone describe themselves in one paragraph? How can you fit all of your thoughts, ideas, feelings, your entire persona into such a small space? If you want to know about me, just ask. It never hurts to ask.

My Interests

I'm a complete nerd, I'll openly admit to it, so let's see, my interests include music, movies, computers, astronomy, physics, science fiction novels, geology, meteorology, chemistry, Magic the gathering, aeronautics, too much really. ....

I'd like to meet:

Just about anyone really. I like to get to know people, good or bad.

Music:

I'm essentially a self-proclaimed audiophile. I really love music. I like techno/electronica/trance/industrial, ambient, OST, classical, blues/jazz, rock (primarily hard rock). My favorite artist however is without a doubt Junkie XL. He's an awesome DJ who's music spans a wide range of styles from techno to rock to ambient. Put simply, he kicks ass.

Movies:

Well, I usually stick to scifi films and sometimes fantasy. Some of my favorites would have to include Serenity, Apollo 13, Jurassic Park, Minority Report, Matrix Trilogy, Star Trek(s), Starwars, Pirates Trilogy, Hitchhiker's, Batman Begins, and too many more to list. I'll eventually list most of 'em here. Wanted Exclusive Trailer
..

Television:

House, Samurai Jack, CSI, MythBusters, Big Science, Smash Lab, StarTrek, Stargate(Sg1 and Atlantis), Firefly, Eureka, Deadliest Catch, Man vs. Wild, Jericho, and the new Battlestar Galactica. I'd also like to add that the new season of Battlestar Galactica is kicking so much ass that I can't sit down. Also, for nostalgia's sake, Toonami's best commercial: God I miss the old Toonami. Classic cool. They had some of the best animated shows ever.

Books:

Favorite authors: Carl Sagan, Isaac Asimov, J.R.R. Tolkien, Michael Chrichton, J.K. Rowling, H.G. Wells, Arthur C. Clarke. I'm currently enjoying the wonderful writings of Orson Scott Card and Marc Laidlaw.

Heroes:

People who do great things, no matter how big or small, not for glory, self-righteousness, or pity, but because it's the right thing to do. Also people that show true bravery. Not those that show no fear, but those that even in the face of true terror, still act. And the guys over at ForTaxReasons.

My Blog

Is it worth it?

So not long ago work was basically completed on the construction of the Large Hadron Collider, or LHC, at the CERN facility near Geneva.  If you have no idea what I'm talking about don't fre...

A thought...

Have you ever just gone out at night, laid on the grass, and stared up at the stars thinking to yourself, "Who am I?".  Have you ever really given it any thought?  Questioned your purpose or...
