Malokai Gruv as a band was formed in 2004. Coming from different music backgrounds, the boys managed to give in sufficient input to the songwriting which added to a new dimension to the band's sound.Believing in alotta soul, fellow GRUV-ers got together once in awhile to play some music, sing some songs, fix some tunes and head down to the mamak joints for some ambitious talks.Though they have been very comfortable with the pace, they feel that they should go faster in finding opportunities.The vocalist decided to leave the band just as they were approached by Cat Farish from Cat Presents Production - for some personal reasons. The band was left looking for a new vocalist. And as they were auditioning new candidates, the band - Lee, David, Botak and Boy met Pedd - Cat Farish's then-PA.Saw her singing acoustic at one of the Layar Tanchaps held in Kuala Lumpur, the band found musical chemistry in her.The 2006 - Malokai Gruv has performed at French Art Festival, Trubadours set at La Bodega and Moonshine at The Laundry.
The band is planning on playing more gigs in the near future to spread the Gruv .
