I have become a granny/nanny. My first grandson is 16 months old now. It has been such a pleasure taking care of him and seeing him grow. True, I've dealt with his food on my clothes and floor, some crying (especially when mommy leaves for work), poopy diapers (he seems to always wait for grandma's turn to do it!) and changing his clothes (how many times!!!!) But to see his smile turn into laughter, learn to sit up, then crawl and now walk, see him look at the trees, birds and all the various scenery during our walks, learn to play with little kids on the jungle gym, bounce and shake to the beat of music, to sing and talk (his own little baby language for now), eat pieces of food with his little fingers, etc. Well, it's all worth the stinky little things I have to do.
I am sure priviledged that my daughter trust me with the baby and that I have the time to give now that I am retired from the regular work force. Its so much nicer watching Jack.
EVERYONE NEEDS A HUG SOMETIMES, ME TOO!!!!!!!!
