I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm usually laid back and easy going; and far from perfect...rather sarcastic (which can be a problem when people don't get your sense of humor..."lost in translation"). I'm not so great with hellos and even worse with good-byes; I often don't speak when I should and unfortunately do when I shouldn't. I'm very spontaneous and prefer to have options at all times. I enjoy meeting new people, listening to live music, doing home improvement projects around my house and most things creative-arty-crafty. I am often a workaholic; however, I'm trying hard to refrain from the bad habit; but it's hard when work seems like play most of the time! I've been given the gift to raise and nurture, one brilliant and beautiful small person; who has a way of making everyday life memorable and irresistable!
I love music, or perhaps I should say lyrics - lyrics speak to me long before the music - I enjoy hearing what people have to say - and people have a tendency to speak more passionately and honestly in verse. I admire musicians and artist who seek their dreams and hold true to them; despite all the long days and nights. So I ask all of you to seek out local artists and support them; find a small venue and you're sure to see/hear some surprising talent...

Kisses kept are wasted; Love is to be tasted.
There are some you love, I know; Be not loath to tell them so.
Lips go dry and eyes grow wet Waiting to be warmly met,
Keep them not in waiting yet; Kisses kept are wasted.
~Edmund Vance Cooke ..

The key to the mystery of a great artist is
that for reasons unknown, he will give away his energies
and his life just to make sure that one note follows another...
and leaves us with the feeling that something
is right in the world.
~Leonard Bernstein ..

As in all things truly worthwhile in life...love is an art,
sketched and painted atop a canvas of mutual respect.
~unknown..

If wrinkles must be written upon our brow,
let them not be written upon the heart;
the spirit should not grow old.
~James A. Garfield..

Once conform, once do what others do
because they do it, and a kind of lethargy
steals over all the finer senses of the soul.
~Michel de Montaigne..

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is real! ("real isn't how you are made ~or where you are from~ it's the thing that happens to you")People who are open-minded without passing judgments, love fully, laugh often, can think beyond themselves(but are not afraid to know themselves); people who look to better the world around them (even in the smallest way); anyone who embraces life, music and truth.

My Blog
