About Me

I started playing guitar about 5 years ago when a friend of my dad's gave me an old acoustic (sound familiar). Having played Keyboards in many bands for the last few years I had developed a good ear and feel for many types of music, so the guitar came pretty naturally to me and I was able to pick things up that I heard without too much trouble. But I soon needed an upgrade from my acoustic and blew all my money on an Ibanez RG (which I later customised) and a Peavey practice amp. After about a year working with local musicians and being surrounded by the Norwich music scene I was introduced to players like Paul Gilbert, Gary Moore, Zakk Wylde and Steve Stevens, who are my biggest influences. After getting hold of some instructional tapes my playing took on a new level and my technique improved very quickly. I continued to play keyboards in bands, but the guitar was quickly becoming my main weapon of choice. Many guitars and amps later I ended up where I am now, one of the guitarists in the band 'The Divide'. My main axe is a Gibson Les Paul Gary Moore and I usually have a pink or black Ibanez Jem, or sometimes a Paul Gilbert Signature around as a spare. I now use a SOLDANO Decatone head and a BUDDA Superdrive 80 II through a MESA 4X12 cab and a SOLDANO 4x12 cab, and it sounds pretty good to me! The songs with vocals you hear on this page are 'The Divide' songs that I've recorded and produced myself, other songs can be heard on 'The Divide's' page, be sure to check that out. The other songs are ones I threw together a few years ago with some help from my friends, when I get time I'll do some new instrumental stuff, but for now, enjoy!!
