She has established the emergent independent record label Joi Rocks Entertainment LLC in order to effectively make her music more accessible and give her more leverage, and still anticipates to be picked up by a major. Joi has also worked with other great producers such as ToolMan Productions (produced for Krayzie Bone from Bone Thugs, amongst several other established artists), Steph Dollaz and Reke Raw (SG), Pred, Faust from M.Sound, to name but a few. Joi believes in versatility so she makes effortless switches from rapping to chanting/toasting (dancehall reggae) and singing- This rapper/toaster/singer/producer enjoys expressing herself and letting others relate, so she raps about real experience- things we all go through (life, pain, love, joy & more); She strives to motivate and firmly believes in making that connection...found this music layout at HOT FreeLayouts.comJoi is from ZIMBABWE(yeah she knows her roots)! Though African bred, Joi has been out here since 2000, and has been recording music and performing out here offically since 2002. She started making music 'back home' since she was 15 yrs old as far as writing rhymes, rapping and chanting- Inspired by her now late parents (R.I.P. mom n' dad), she learnt to play the piano from when she was as young as 6, and played the church organ as a teen in Zimbabwe... This artist fell in love with music early-JOI ROCK's latest shows to note include THISIS50's "Stop the Violence Tour" which covered Manhatten, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Long Island. She also the Opening Act for Dipset member- Koch Record's Hell Rell of late. Joi's performances include Philadephia (V.I.P Lounge, XO lounge, Club Samba, Club Flow, Tragos, Fluid) Brooklyn (Production Lounge, Amarachi Lounge), Upper Darby (69th Street Lounge)- DE (East End Cafe, Stoneys), New York (Madison Square Garden), Baltimore (Courtesy of Spitters' Club), Club Beyond and a many many other "on the spot" open mics...This artist has been extending her influence internationally with shows, and promotion in Canada, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Joi also graduated with a Management Information Systems (MIS)degree in and strives to apply even the business knowledge into her music career both in theory and practice.
