Heavy on the rock edge with some funky cream on top and a sprinkle of soul all placed on a mountain of hip hop beats with a shot of some techno for flava! shouted one excited fan getting an autograph from Clear after a festival show. Thats why Nu-Clear has coined their sound as "FunkyTechnoHipRockSoul."
Music has always been an important force in the life of Nu Skyy. As an adolescent growing up in Louisiana, Nu Skyy went from playing church music to performing concerts with stars like Roger and Zapp, the SOS band, Cameo, and other hot funk stars. Nu Skyy never let music leave his soul. He currently produces in collaboration with fellow producer Tony Williams for singer Kanye West.
Clear grew up in Dallas, TX, and spent most of her child life as a church choir soloist. She evolved into writing inspirational music, neo-soul, then rock. R&B has always been her true love. "This is the big component she brings to the mix," says Nu Skyy.
All of the members are very talented writers and producers. Its this melting pot of musical styles that makes this music come alive with color, energy, and vibe, according to Nu Skyy and Clear.
"Songwriting is the main focus of the group," says Andrew "Alphabet" Rothlesberger. "There are so many groups that make a great first impression and the rest of the material is weak. So we are constantly working on new material, with a new sound and a strong concept, making sure that each song doesn't sound like another version of any other songs that weve ever created. Thats why our albums flow so well."
The band has already written enough songs for the next two albums. The sounds are getting fresher. Audiences are embracing the new sounds and there is a growing buzz about Nu-Clear.
