Winners of Battle of the Bands at the Crown & Treaty, Uxbridge on the 4th May 2008, beating 20 other bands.Gig review by Daniel Rider of the Uxbridge Gazette.
As The Nasca Lines took to the stage, the crowd was starting to swell. Good job too - their band of urgent, brooding punk deserves an audience. Walking the line between moody and cheeky, front man Russell is every bit a star, backed up amply by marching drum patterns and heavy bass grooves. Starting at a frantic tempo, the set gave way for a more tuneful stance in the second sector. Picking up the pace again for the finale, the lyrics "Please don't let them take me away..." were still ringing in my head until the next band stepped up.
