..................i love my hometown, san francisco and its history; i love my park, specifically the arboretum (love feeding the squirrels!), so walks there is my fav outdoor activity.
taking pictures; lions in architecture; old family photos; writing; live music; paranormal. things i collect, pumpkins, vintage: tiki gods, wooden pineapples, glass roosters/hens and piggy banks. i've mastered the art of lounging.
no one in particular. maybe on the other side i can catch up with james dean and the person who invented the donut! but on this side, how do people answer this? names, body types? please. i ain't lookin' to hook up, so i guess i'm here to celebrate me! oh yea and my friends :) PLUS i get to post precious pix of meep!.....since the most important thing to me is my kitty, meeper do!, my best friend! one thing that is definite, i DO NOT want to meet or associate with people who aren't kind to animals.....i think people who don't love animals are suspicious, they lack compassion .HELP FEED RESCUED ANIMALS BY GOING TO THIS LINK: http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/tpc/ERA_032406_ARS
music is a big part of my world. i don't remember ever not having music in my life. i'm suspicious of people who don't have any opinion about it. music speaks to so many parts of your soul, if you can't hear it what does that say? ... authentic country, vintage or contemporary ; doo wop; rockabilly; rock and roll; surf; punk/pop; i often revisit my youth, there's alot of music that just makes me feel good, but rick springfield brings the biggest smile! will always love him! i adore julian lennon and bryan adams and of course if you don't love elvis, neil diamond, and tom jones, you ain't nothin'! i love seeing el vez perform. eric martin and john waite have the best vocals i've ever heard....i'm obsessive about certain songs, one of them suspicous minds, i have near 30 versions and i seem to be the only one who can appreciate that!....here's a plug for my cousin's site, chk it out! www.petebest.com ... i made another myspace for artists i like, chk it out, its my friend, fan of...if you're in a band (and i don't know you personally) and you'd like me to check out your music and add me as a friend, that would be cool, BUT PLEASE do it via my "fan of,..." myspace page. check my friends list to be linked. thankx!
absolute favorite, the original JAWS. i'm a complete freak about this film. i can watch it over and over. recently i watched it and when it was done i was like yippee, go again! then i said stop you're a freak. yes i talk to myself.moving on, other favs include, the right stuff; interview w/ a vampire; gosford park; ameilie; la bamba; the idol maker; eddie and the cruisers; grease; clay pigeons; urban cowboy; chocolat; most recent favorites the notebook, motorcycle diaries, station agent and intermission. i love movies and rent way more than i should. i'm recently obsessed with film commentary. i've always been interested in filmmaking so this bonus is quite enjoyable. i especcially like to hear the comments about how passionate the filmmakers are when the movie sucks BIGTIME!
shit, i have to admit, and i'm not ashamed, i love tv and i have become a slave to tivo! quality tv i think is continually on the rise, look at how many film talents do tv now. maybe cuz there are so many shit movies, i wonder how they get made? im going to start writing my own shit movies and make some coin! AND i MUST complain about writing on both tv and in movies. there are too many cruelty to animal scenes that are unnecesary and send the wrong message to people. writers suck when they use animals to get an emotion tug where they should be creative differently. shameful!...i'm obsessed with my all time favorite series, THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO! can't get enough of it! i wish i could have flat screen tv's in every room and down the hall with the show on a loop!.....i miss the series OZ and american dreams...since so many movies suck i have recently taken to watching 70s cop series. im obsessed with the mod squad! i am also totally liking hawaii 5-0 which i don't remember watching first run even tho i have the theme song as my ring tone...my friend janice is obsessed with our hometown too. here's a shot from our spur of the moment photo shoot AND a streets pic that is unintentionally similar!
unfortunately don't read as many books as i have piled here. mostly i go for biographies, which i listen to on my ipod when i go for walks. last book i read was some time ago called wacky chicks! it was great, but i wonder why i wasn't interviewed? .... what i do read is sf history books, i have 40+! read this quote recently in one of them and loved it! "francisco is a mad city, inhabited for the most part by insane people whose women are of remarkable beauty!"-rudyard kipling
don't believe in them. sure there are people to admire for who they are or their talent, but i don't believe in putting anyone on a pedistal (except meep, who is truely ABOVE everyone else!).
