About Me

I got signed up for the Navy as a joke. I took the day off of school my senior year. Recruiter came to my lunch room. My "friend" Doug went up to them, said "Hi my name is Kevin Kelly, I want to join the navy." Awesome prank, Farva... I was working as a bartender saving for culinary school. I went along with the joke. 11 years later, i'm still in the navy.About a year and a half of school in Orlando and New York, I learned almost all I needed to operate a nuclear reactor. I started out on the USS Boston (SSN 703) in Groton, Conn. A week after I got there, I went on a 4 month trip around South America. Fun. Although on the way back, we went through the center of the Bermuda Triangle at a depth of 666ft, a heading of 013, making turns for 13 knots on a Friday the 13th. That's how real men tempt fate. From there, I was sent to Hawaii to decommission her. A boats in the navy is referred to as "she", or "her". Its probably because they suck the life out of you. After the Boston, I went to the USS Topeka (SSN 754). Again, a week later, I left for a deployment. This time it was for 6 months. That one wasn't too bad. Went to a few places in Japan. Stopped off in Guam, Fiji, Austrailia. That was 1999. The new year that year we were on the International Date Line and the Equator. All four hemisphere's 2 years, 2 millenia (even though the millenia doesn't change until 2001). At 400 feet below the surface, we were able to do an interview with I believe Ted Koppel or Sam Donaldson. I don't exactly know who, I was pushing the boat. After the better part of 5 years in Hawaii, my boat moved to San Diego. It was there that I met Jeanette and got married. Soon after we moved to Goose Creek, South Carolina. 364 days after I got married, our daughter Riley was born. We spent almost 3 years in South Cackalaka. During that time, Jeanette got herself pregnant again and we brought Alexandria into the world in 2006. We left in early 2007 for the PNW. (that's Pacific North West) Since we've been up here, I've been spabbed in the leg, had my ACL torn in half, and shredded my meniscus. But really, who hasn't had that happen to them. So, now, I'm in Washington trying to figure out Should I stay or should I go now.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet the first idiot that thought he didn't make enough money and made his wife get a job. Greed is a terribly contagious thing. I'm not saying women shouldn't work. I do think one parent should stay home and raise their kids instead of letting a day care do it for them. Once upon a time it was concidered very rare for a child to have 2 working parents before the kid went to school. It was also when a parent had time to make meals that were healthy. Now parents have time to stop off at KFC and pick up a Big Chicken Bucket and a liter of cola for dinner. They let the TV's babysit their children and then complain that their ADHD kid is now overweight. I'd also like to meet Mr. Yuengling. He makes the only beer that rhymes with Bling-Bling.MOVE ALL HTML CODES (IMAGES/WIDGETS/SLIDESHOWS/VIDEOS) BELOW THIS CODE

Health and cleanliness consciousness

Today I realized just how much of a health food junkie I am.  I ate my cheese filled hot dogs on 100% whole wheat bread.  Not a white bread bun.  Plus, when I put the mustard ...
