The Reverend Mark

About Me

First and foremost The Reverend Mark is a Born-Again Believer in Jesus, the one and only Christ, and a "Legally" Ordained Minister . The Reverend Mark must forewarn you that the End is very near so you will want to Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. This is no joke! You can read all about it in your Holy Bible-The Reverend Mark prefers the Authorized 1611 King James Version. Get Saved Now! You and your family. Salvation is so easy to obtain that a lot of people actually miss it. All it requires is the smallest amount of faith in Jesus Christ... the faith of a mustard seed. The Reverend Mark wishes that he were this bold in person. The Reverend Mark feels so much like the Apostle Paul at times. Read the New Testament... you'll get it.
Anyhow... on with the story...
The Reverend Mark's parents, The Mr. & Mrs. Reverends, acquired The Reverend Mark a Lafayette 6-Sting guitar with, count them, 4 chrome plated pickups, from the local pawn shop for Christmas back in the early 70's. Yeah... that long ago. Along with it came an old tube guitar amp. That amp made more noise than the guitar itself. No need for a distortion pedal with that amp. All you had to do was turn it on. The Reverend Mark was just starting out learning about electronics and really had no clue as to what to do with the amp. Well... The Reverend Mark tinkered with it and got it running. It was the simple life.
After just a few guitar lessons, as The Reverend Mark's parents couldn't really afford them anyhow, The Reverend Mark went on to discover the guitar for himself and became an autodidactic bassist and guitarist. After years of fiddling with the guitar it became apparent that bass playing was more along the lines of where The Reverend Mark really shone. The Reverend Mark went on to develop his own unique bass playing style. The Reverend Mark's style was comprised mainly of the mainstream rock music of the era with a twist. A bass player by nature, The Reverend Mark still prefers to write his songs the old fashioned way... on an old 6-string guitar.
The Reverend Mark, playing guitar at that time, had early on formed a band with classmates, Tim Ramirez (TJR) on piano, Jesse Jones on other guitar, Jose Manchego on bass & Matt Robison on drums. That's a whole other story... who would have thought?.
Well... long story short... The Reverend Mark has rejoined TJR (http://www.tjrmusic.com) for several acoustic performances throughout the Southland and may eventually perform with the famed folk duo, Tim Tedrow & Terry Vreeland (http://www.trough.com/tedrow-vreeland/default.htm).
The Reverend Mark hopes to see some of you at one of the semi-local gigs that he'll be performing at in the near future. Keep an eye on his Calendar Page (http://www.thereverendmark.com) for details.

You scored as Christianity. Your views are most similar to those of Christianity. Do more research on Christianity and possibly consider being baptized and accepting Jesus, if you aren't already Christian.Christianity is the second of the Abrahamic faiths; it follows Judaism and is followed by Islam. It differs in its belief of Jesus, as not a prophet nor historical figure, but as God in human form. The Holy Trinity is the concept that God takes three forms: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (sometimes called Holy Spirit). Jesus taught the idea of instead of seeking revenge, one should love his or her neighbors and enemies. Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross to save humankind and forgive people's sins.
