Tampa, aint just the Buccaneers. Its where people know who you roll with, by what street you stay on. Where every good party ends in gun shots and restarts in Gyros parking lot. Where you cant wait to buy your new outfit for the Florida State Fair. Where all your Saturdays were spent @ University Mall. And you lived for the CHAMBERLAIN vs. Hillsborough and the Blake vs. Middleton games. Where the only station you listen to is 98.7 and you rode to school every morning listening to O and the Freak Show and you went to Wild Splash and LDS. Where the Polar Cup man sold flavors like coconut, pineapple, and mango, plus he sold chicken patties after school.Where people judged how hard you were by what middle school you went to, (WILLIAMS,Sligh, Middleton, Van Buren, Franklin, Young, Greco) and after school you went straight to the park (SULPHUR SPRINGS,Fair Oaks, Nuccio, McFarland). You know all about Krunk Parties @ the Armory, and all major events happened @ the Marshall Center. You started cursing in the 7th grade and you lived for the MLK Parade and afterwards the fights that always ended it. You wear Tims in the summertime and flip flops in the winter, and you have some piece of jewelry with your name in it from Shalimar. You can tell the difference between a Rican, Cuban, and a Mexican and you know the difference between having good hair and being mixed. Your best friend got a baby or at least two baby mommas and youll fight harder for your play- play cousin than you will for your real cousin. Youve got a friend at every single highschool and everybody has a car or at least unlimited access to one because everybody stays way too damn far and its too damn hot to be trying to walk anywhere. You know only homeless people, crackheads, females with a bunch of kids, and broke USF students ride Hartline. And when you stop @ a red light your car shakes from the bass of a car 4 cars back. You know too many people with at least 4 golds in their mouth. You or somebody you know worked @ B.G. or A.I. for at least a summer . You spent every Memorial Day @ Adventure Island and couldnt wait till you were 18 so you could go to Wet N Wild. You know what Big Johns is and theres a Coles on every corner. You know one crazy person that always rides their bike everywhere and every corner store sells white tees. You know that once you go by yo friend Auntie house, you dont need that friend anymore to keep going over there for every Bar-B-Que and Sunday dinner. Before you came to college you thought everybody drank Zephyrhills and you know that your senior year between pics and announcements Herff Jones took all yo damn money. You went to Grad Nite or Grad Bash and you know what Gasparilla is. You know that Fuel is poppin on Thursday, Underground on Friday, 112 on Saturday. You only know one nigga with a low cut because everybody has dreads or twists and you get your hair braided for the summer because you know yo perm wont last. The only area code you know is 813 and the farthest you went was 727. You was up on Im Sprung back in February and either Tom G., Crazy, Tampa Tony, or Rated R,LORD DRAK & THE DRAK BOY$ .is your homebois cousin.
